Where in the world is Colin Daniel Lindstedt?
Long time no type? Read? Write? It has been too long. I should be having a more in depth update this weekend, but I figured I should give you all a quick update on where I am at.
I am no longer involved in the training center here at YWAM Harpenden. I have instead transitioned and am full time in our kitchen area (BB Hall). All of our schools that run, and some of the staff eat here on a daily basis. We have anywhere from 20 to 60 people eating here at the moment. Some months of the year it is nearing 100, and other months it nears 15. ALLL over the place. I am now in charge of the kitchen area. The food and cooking. I am the head chef/ in charge almost half of the meals there. Lunches and dinners. The other ones I am usually helping/assisting or doing other work (cleaning, organizing, ordering) I love it. I LOVE cooking, and have gotten quite good at it apparently.
I am still working on learning Portuguese, albeit a bit slower than I want, but I still am making progress towards fluency. I still have a huge heart for Brazil and hope to go back as soon as possible. I miss Brazil so much and it might be my favorite place in the world. So having my boss be Brazilian and some of the other people working with me, it is wonderful. I always get to talk about Brazil, and learn how to cook Brazilian food! (lots of garlic and salt. I mean A. LOT.)
I have been having a lot of personal struggles, which have led to a lot of personal growths! Those will be in another update when I have more time/energy to write a lengthy one. I have started to fall in love with reading the Bible again alongside having daily quiet times.
I still work in the cafe occasionally on weekends, but Monday through Friday morning AND afternoon (except Friday morning where I am in ID learning and having small groups) I am in the kitchen either cooking, cleaning, or just getting things done! It is a lot. It is the first time I have been properly full time in a single ministry or area and I absolutely love it.
As always, feel free to ask me any questions or leave any comments! Have a great day and God bless.
