It's About Time!
So. I think I might be a little late with this one. Whoops. Sorry mum! So where to start. I suppose with the DTS!
I am staffing the April 2014 DTS. Orientation week is over and lectures start next week. So exciting! We have 8 trainees. It is a smaller school and I am PUMPED. All of the trainees seem awesome so far. There are 7 nations within them, 9 if you count the staff. We have 3 guys, Australia, New Zealand, and Colombia. We have 5 girls, The Netherlands, 2 Germans, a Canadian, and a Texan. Since it is a small school I have gotten to know them pretty quickly. I am so excited about what God is going to do in their lives and how he will wreck them and flip their little worlds on their heads. It is fantastic.
Orientation week was pretty standard. Lots of information for the first 3 days but the last two we had team building. We did games and got people out of their comfort zones. We even head to learn to trust one another, which is always a scary proposition. I think it helped quite a bit since we are smaller, we got quite comfortable with each other pretty quickly. The weekend has been pretty chill thus far. We have had the DTS from Amsterdam and a group from Kona here as well for a bit. I love meeting new people and it has been great to see some many connections made. Tuesday night community meeting was a little different. Worship was good as always, and then we had the staff tell how DTS changed their lives, or what epiphanies and revelations they had. The April DTS and Amsterdam DTS were then both prayed and prophecied over. We all wrote one word that described DTS on a piece of paper and had them stand on it before we proclaimed over them. I cheated and picked 2: Revelatory and peacefully-chaotic.
Last night while playing frisbee I jumped to catch it and fell awkwardly on my ankle. The resulting sound was akin to the sound when you pour milk on Rice Crispies. SNAP CRACKLE POP! It hurt. So instead of going to St. Albans with a group today I sad in the lounge nursing a sprained ankle. Hurrrahhh. So definitely pray for a speedy recovery so I can get back and at it soon! I will need all the energy I can muster from now on. My back was acting up but that seems to be better so praise God for that!
Outreach! The DTS and myself will be going toooo.............. BRAZIL We will be leaving sometime at the end of June to go to Brazil for our outreach portion. We will be there for a few months and will get to see the 2nd half of the World Cup there. I am so excited. I don't think I can even understand how crazy it will be. I think I might turn into a lobster because I. DO. NOT. TAN. Pray for me. I will definitely be needing help with finances to pay for my flight since they are not cheap! I will be blogging about that in the future but always feel free to talk to me. We have a lot planned for outreach and I can not wait to see how God will come through.
I think that will be it for now. I know it is not super in depth but I will give more when I have some extra time! God bless and I hope you can understand how much He loves you just a little more this day/afternoon/evening. Cheers!
