Brazil?!?!?
Hey all! Hope everything is going well wherever you are living. I have some exciting news for you all. I'm going to Brazil!!! The DTS leaves at the end of June to Brazil and comes back a couple weeks into September. I need some sun tan lotion. We will be all over the country. Working at a fishing village on the coast for quite a few weeks (I know where I will be in my free time), Sao Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, and many more exciting places! I can't wait to go and tell you about all the escapades and evangelism.
Also, in case you were unaware (I mean, how COULD you be?), the 2014 FIFA World Cup is being hosted in Brazil. It starts the 12th of June and the final is on the 13th of July. So I will be in Brazil during the World Cup. I would love to see a game God willing, but I am just exciting to be there during this time. Brazil is crazy about football. I mean CRAZY. So that will be a little different compared to the US view on "soccer." And they are also continuing to prepare for the summer Olympics being hosted there in 2 years as well! Crazy stuff.
As you can guess, flights are NOT cheap. I am in need of some support from my friends, families, and churches back home. I cannot do these things without you! You guys are my rock, my foundation (other than Jesus of course), and huge prayer base. I would be honored if any of you would be wiling to make a donation to help me pay for my flight. If you cannot make a financial commit, I am still extremely exciting to have you partner with me in prayer. I need a lot of it! (right Mom?!) I also have some debt to the base I need to pay off before going on outreach.
The total amount I need is around 1500 pounds, which translates to roughly $2500. Who would have thought flying to Brazil during the World Cup would be expensive?!
